Vice-Chancellor Professor Steven Schwartz and the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor John Simons, invite you to a special garlanding ceremony for the newly installed bust of Rabindranath Tagore.

Rabindranath Tagore (1861 – 1941) was a Bengali polymath who reshaped his region’s literature and music. The first non-European Nobel laureate, Tagore transformed Bengali art and penned the national anthems of India and Bangladesh. Macquarie University is honoured to receive this bust as a gift from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations to honour the legacy of Tagore.
